SFPC Ambassador Türkiye

Georgesette Sédo, born in Suriname and originally from Sophia’s Lust, is a proud Surinamese and an alumna of Türkiye Bursları (Turkey Scholarships). Over the years, she has cultivated a deep passion for business studies and international education. In 2025, she was awarded a PhD scholarship, marking an important milestone in her academic journey and further strengthening her dedication to lifelong learning.

In addition to her academic achievements, Georgesette serves as the Interim President of the Suriname Foreign Policy Community (SFPC). In this leadership role, she works to advance the organization’s mission of promoting global awareness, educational opportunity, and international engagement for Surinamese youth.

Her personal and academic experiences in Türkiye have shaped her commitment to supporting aspiring students who dream of studying abroad. As SFPC Ambassador Türkiye, Georgesette actively guides and mentors Surinamese students interested in pursuing their education in Türkiye.

She believes that studying overseas is about far more than academics—it is an opportunity to broaden one’s worldview, build resilience, and gain cultural and professional insights that cannot be taught in a classroom. Türkiye’s diverse and vibrant academic landscape offers a uniquely transformative environment for Surinamese students.

Georgesette advocates for greater engagement with global educational opportunities, emphasizing that the world offers a vast range of study fields that can enrich Suriname’s human capital. She firmly believes that students who return home with international knowledge, academic training, and lived experiences bring fresh perspectives and new pathways for national development.

Through her roles as Interim President of the Suriname Foreign Policy Community and SFPC Ambassador Türkiye, she remains dedicated to guiding and inspiring students to explore the world, pursue excellence, and contribute meaningfully to Suriname’s future.
